Correct Billing for Ulcer Debridement 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.7 cm With Palpable Bone

My patient has an ulcer 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.7 cm with palpable bone.I debrided this.How do I bill?

Since the deepest level was down to the bone, the appropriate CPT code to bill is 11044.

11044-Debridement, bone (includes epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous tissue, muscle and/or fascia, if performed); first 20 sq cm or less.

With the wound measuring less than 20 square centimeters, this would be billed for one unit of service. Appropriate diagnosis codes should be linked for this wound care procedure. No modifiers should be required if this was the only procedure performed on the encounter date.
