Correct POS for Nursing Homes-Medicare & Correct CPT for Custodial Home Visits

Regarding nursing home. Do we always use place of service 31 for billing for medicare. Previously it was 32? Also for custodial rest home , the new code is for both custodial and home visit? 99347? Thank you

Both place of service codes 31 & 32 are payable by Medicare. The code that is reported will depend on the type of facility that the patient was seen in (skilled or non-skilled nursing). For custodial/rest home coding, it is now consolidated with home visit coding. CPT codes 99341-99350 should be billed depending on the level of service and if the patient is new or established.
