Front Desk Medical Office Receptionist

Our growing Long Island-based podiatry practice is seeking a friendly, professional, and reliable Front Desk Medical Office Assistant / Receptionist. This position involves largely administrative duties and working one-on-one with our doctors and Office Manager. Approximately 30+ hours weekly. The ideal candidate is one who is comfortable with a flexible schedule and who can adapt to varying shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays. Pay from $18 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Our main podiatry office location is located in Manhasset, NY. This office is open: Monday 8 am - 7 pm / Tuesday 10:30 am - 5:30 pm / Wednesday 8 am - 7 pm / Thursday 10:30 am – 7 pm / Friday 8 am - 4 pm / Saturday 9 am – 3 pm. Our practice has a second location in Floral Park, which is currently open Monday-Friday. If the opportunity arises, you may be requested to cover office hours at the Floral Park office, but Manhasset will be your main location. Please email or fax your resume: Email: NSPfeet@gmail.com Fax: 516-365-5545 Phone: 516-365-5544 Key Responsibilities: Greet patients in a warm and welcoming manner Escort patients to rooms and assist with intake procedures Answer and route phone calls, respond to inquiries & schedule appointments Verify and update patient information, including insurance and contact details Collect copays and other fees at time of service Maintain accurate records and ensure patient confidentiality Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and electronic communications Clean and prepare exam rooms between patient visits, ensuring a sanitary & organized environment Assist with general administrative and clerical duties as needed Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred Previous experience in a medical office preferred; knowledge of medical terminology and basic insurance protocols a plus Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure High level of technical/computer literacy Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information (HIPAA)
