Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by Foulkeways at Gwynedd to conduct an executive search for Chief Human Resources Officer.

Located in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, Foulkeways at Gwynedd (Foulkeways) is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community guided by Quaker values reflecting the ideals of friendship, dignity, and respect in every-day decision making. Situated on 130 acres of beautifully wooded landscape in Montgomery County, Foulkeways offers comfortable independent living and retirement homes, memory support, skilled nursing, rehabilitation services, and long-term care in a tight-knit and caring environment. With comprehensive senior care services, innovative wellness programs, and a certified hospice agency, Foulkeways boasts a deep-rooted and genuine sense of community. The community is home to over 400 residents ages 65 and older, with 350 total dedicated staff members and annual revenue of $34 million.  

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and direction in developing and executing human resources strategy to achieve the overall business plan, strategic direction, mission, and goals of the organization, specifically in the areas of talent management, succession planning, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. This position involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation, and implementation of the organization’s employment related policies, and provides confidential input and advice to the Chief Executive Officer, executive team members, and department managers.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a graduate of an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred, and at least seven years’ experience in Human Resources administration with progressive leadership experience, preferably within a CCRC or Life Plan Community environment. Not-for-profit experience is also desired. The finalist candidate will be an individual who is willing to enter into a long-term commitment of service to the organization and to do so within a team-oriented, collaborative environment. (S)he will be a person of high professional and ethical standards who will embrace and model the organization’s Quaker values and will be a change agent, tactfully balancing the needs of the organization and its staff and residents.
