NYSPMA Co-Authors Healthcare Partnership Support Memo

The NYSPMA and 11 other healthcare provider organizations have authored a Memorandum Of Support for NY Senate Bill 5862 (LaValle) and Assembly Bill 8153 (Peoples-Stokes), which would allow physicians to partner with podiatrists and other healthcare providers.

Current law prohibits physicians from owning professional practices with non-physicians.  This bill would amend the law to allow physicians to enter into a voluntary, legal relationship to jointly own business corporations, professional limited liability partnerships and professional limited liability companies with podiatrists and certain other healthcare providers.
